This program was established by Dr. Ed Porthan. This year, NDCEL updated the course to include the latest trends in education and leadership. Instructional Leadership represents the best of our current knowledge about effective instruction, effective learning, and effective school leadership to enhance learning.
This program has been utilized and valued by numerous North Dakota administrators over the years. Instructional Leadership is designed to provide school leaders with advanced training to improve upon their instructional leadership skills. It assists in the critical task for school administrators is the supervision, coaching, and evaluation of staff. The program will elevate the conferencing and evaluation of educators. Instructional Leadership engages participants through reading, direct instruction, individual and small-group study, and application exercises. This program is now designed as 2 days of training, rather than the former 6-day program to make attendance easier.
