Congratulations to Luke Schaefer on receiving the highest honor that NDCEL bestows. The NDCEL Special Service Award is presented to an individual who has made extraordinary contributions to education in North Dakota through time and expertise, and whose impact has had a profound statewide benefit.
Luke has been instrumental in his role as CREA director. His organization not only has benefitted schools within CREA, but throughout all of North Dakota. A few accomplishments have been providing Science of Reading trainings, Avel e-nurse services, COVID-19 testing, EL services, music grants, counseling services, grants for the STOPit bullying app, before and after school programming, Bush grants, and CRACTC courses. Luke's contributions to education in North Dakota are truly immeasurable. North Dakota is so fortunate to have someone like Luke Schaefer working tirelessly in the service of our schools and our children. Luke Schaefer is very deserving of this award.
